Nomo is the number 1 sobriety tracking app in the AppStore! The coolest part is that I'm not a company. I'm just a guy in recovery who made an app that's helping hundreds of thousands of people all around the world! I would LOVE for Nomo to be a significant part of your recovery!
One great way to stay encouraged is to see your progress. Nomo will break down tons of stats like your streaks, how much money you've saved, how many calories you've burned (for alcohol clocks), how much time you've saved, and a ton more!
Create a clock for each issue you're working on!
Track things like money saved, calories burned (for alcohol clocks), time not wasted, etc!
(Optional) Share your clocks with friends, family, accountability partners, sponsors, counselors, etc.
You'll earn a new milestone chip for various lengths of sobriety!
Checking in saves a timestamps that shows you're actively checking your clock.
You can set the name, color, category, sobriety date, and more!
Yes and no. Many people just want a simple counter that will show them the number of days that they've been clean and sober. If that's all you want, Nomo is perfect for that!
However, if you look under the hood, Nomo is so much more! Everything from an encouragement wall, to accountability partner searching, to mini-exercises to help you refocus! Nomo has been an ongoing project with user-suggested features that get added all the time. I like to say that it's a community built app.
I want Nomo to be packed with useful features, but I also want to it be a simple clock. If you just want the clock, awesome! Ignore everything else. Otherwise, the dashboard opens up a ton of helpful tools!
If you attend meetings, it's common for everyone in the group to connect with each other in the app. If you don't go to meetings, Nomo can search for accountability partners! Once connected, you can share your clocks and message each others. It's a great way of staying accountable!
Journaling is a huge part of recovery. It allows us to get our thoughts out of heads an on to paper... or screens. This is a no-frills, to-the-point journal. Write your thoughts and move on. Journal entries are completely private and a great place for you to vent or celebrate.
Sometimes we just need to hear from others. The encourage wall is a place where you can read encouraging words from the community. You can even post them yourself! It's a great way to stay motivated and to motivate others.
We all know that feeling... the urge to make a mistake. I created a handful of mini-exercises/games to help you refocus and slow down those impulses. It has everything from breathing exercises to virtual bubble wrap. If you're feeling tempted, take a minute to distract yourself and refocus.
Once you've connected with an accountability partner, you'll be able to private message each other within the app. This is perfect for checking in and sending quick words of encouragement. It's also great when you're feeling tempted and need to reach out.
I'm not a company. I'm literally just a guy in recovery who created an app that I needed. I'm blown away by how many people have made Nomo a part of their journey. I'm so proud of the community for getting behind Nomo and making suggestions to make it even better.
"Why not charge 99 cents and rake in the dough?" is a question I'm asked often. It's 100% a moral thing. So many people won't download an app if they have to pay for it. Even having, "Contains in-app purchases" is a major deterrent for a lot of people. I don't want anything to stand in someone's way of getting help. With that said, I intentionally don't charge for Nomo.
"Do you run ads?" is the next obvious question. Yes, I do and I personally hate it. Unfortunately, since I pay for everything out of pocket, the ads are a massive help with offsetting that cost. However, a lot of people don't like ads and I'm completely with them on that one.
I set a PayPal link that lets you donate any amount that you feel you can part with and that's worth it. In return, PayPal will forward you to a page where you have to option to disable ads on your account. The amount is completely up to you. I appreciate every penny. If you want ads removed, but you can't afford to donate anything, I completely understand. Just shoot me an email and let me know. The last thing I want is for money to keep someone from using Nomo.
Here are a few screenshots from the app!
It’s a wonderful app and also provides additional helpful resources!!! Thank you
I’m usually too lazy to review apps, but... It’s a little glitchy, but a really decent app. I’ve got my one clock going. There’s a journal to boot. And some distractions; my fav is the bubble wrap. It’s awesome.
I’ve been using this app for years. Does the job and more. Definitely recommend it!!
This is my favorite sobriety app and I’ve recommended it to a lot of people. I like to see the time and calories I’ve saved form not drinking. It’s definitely been a helpful and encouraging tool. And it doesn’t guilt trip you when you reset it. It just resets and you carry on.
Thank you for providing me such a great tool to help in my sobriety! I’m only 15 days away from my first full year sober :)
Easy to use. Quick to check and share with my support group.
I’ve been battling addictions for a long time and a little over a year ago went off the deep end and finally needed to get help. I’m now sober for over a year. I had the help of an therapists for a while but after changing jobs my new insurance didn’t cover it and it’s not easy to pay out of pocket every session. Event though I have no relapsed, I have had the urges and rode the waves but sometimes those waves can be tidal as we all know, because the addictions never really go away and are constantly poking the sleeping bear. So I can across this app looking for a sobriety counter to help keep me accountable when the rush comes. So far I LOVE this app, for me it’s the little things like getting a random notification from the app checking in with me...like come on that’s so amazing! I have multiple clocks for different issues I have and it’s quite satisfying checking in to each clock, it’s like something to look forward to every time. I love how you get badges as well for milestones you complete, it’s again something to look forward to which is extremely helpful. Being able to journal and play focus games when the wave hits is something amazing because it’s right here on my phone on one app where I can access it anywhere. I’m not always home so I can just flip open my journal or tackle a bunch of crossword puzzles to distract my mind. I also really like all the recommendations for books and what not to read pertaining to your addiction. In all if I could give this app a 100/10 I would. Thank you for making this app.
The creator is really interactive and super sweet, it’s a great app and great for anyone trying to track their progress
First of all, this app is developed by one dude who just wants to help people. This is perfect for what it’s meant to help with. It’s got little mini games to keep your mind off stuff and even a little message board area where people say uplifting stuff. I dig it. A major thank you to the developer!
I love being able to setup multiple clocks to track many things I am working to improve about my life.
This app truly helps me feel great about myself. I don’t open it for long periods of time and then once in a while I will just open it and look through it and put it all into perspective because I will have 4 years completely sober this April 1, 2020 and in this time I have actually gotten my license to be an addictions counselor in the state of New York and my life had done a complete 180. This app allows me to track some of the things I have done in this time and money I have saved. It helps me realize that I am doing great in times of frustration or during times of neglect. I will get complacent now and then and then I will start to work on self-love stuff again and read more and eat better and this app really helps me realize that I have done something wonderful and the proof is right in front of me... I am living proof that addicts CAN & DO recover.
I have tried several apps for sobriety and find this one to be very calming. I especially like the component that they have breathing and distraction tools built in, which have helped stave off a craving many a time.
easy to use and gets the job done. start your recovery
I love nomo, I have had this app off and on for years. The easiness of this app is a big deal especially for this alcoholic mind of mine.
This app is so thoughtful and simple. I was looking for an app I could use that acted like a calendar I used to have where I would mark an ‘X’ on the day that I completed all my goals. Seeing all the ‘X’s on my calendar for a whole month was so motivating that it kept me going. This now replaces that and I get to look at it multiple times a day whenever I am feeling the need to ‘cheat’ myself. I have circles for multiple things beyond alcohol and I love that this app encourages you to do so! I use it for drinking, emotional eating, daily movement and meditation. Being a visual learner and motivated by accomplishing my goals, this simple layout of all the circles on one page is VERY aesthetically pleasing. Also, shoutout to the creator of this app. From the moment I opened the app, to the email and personal story video I received, it felt like I was connecting to a community rather than a product. Your ‘Why’ behind this service is so clear and authentic. Kudos to you and thank you for creating this for all of us to benefit from!! xx
I’m struggling with staying sober and every time I go on this app I’m reminded of the reason why I went sober. It makes me feel proud of myself seeing the number of days sober rise. This app helps me keep going and staying focused on what really matters.
Amazing for anything from sobriety of(DOC drug.of.choice. gambling, sex, food, etc.) 200/5 rating. Amazing application (HIGHLY RECOMMEND)
I really enjoy that you can create multiple clocks to track your sobriety. I struggle with both alcohol and weed and have different dates for those so I love that I can personalize it to my own needs rather than just a blanket single sobriety clock.
Great app to keep track of my sobriety and the name is clever too nomo (no more) love it.
I’ve been using this app for about 2 weeks now, I really enjoy how easy it is to use. I like the look of the clocks and the ability to assign them categories and a different color. Would definitely recommend for anyone tracking sobriety or anything else in their life.
I love having a visual reminder of my sobriety time. Great app, user friendly and motivational!
